Lessons are not offered for adults.  Classes are available through the Community Education Programme at Nayland College.Term 4 2010 Graduates

Children

The Alliance Française is part of a worldwide network of more than 1200 independent associations linked to the Alliance Française in Paris which is dedicated to the teaching of French and the organisation of social and cultural activities. To this aim, The Alliance Française de la Region Nelson-Tasman has been offering French classes to children since 2007.

Method

We teach using the foreign language teaching method known as Accelerative Integrated Method (AIM).  This is an active, fun and effective method using a gesture approach, songs and game to reinforce learning and memorisation.  This method involves the 3 learning forms: the visual, the auditory and the kinaesthetic.

The classes are taught by a native French speaker.

School Terms

Classes are held during school terms.  At the beginning of the year, classes start in the second week of the school term.  At the end of the year, classes finish in the second last week of the term. Dates for classes are advised annually.

Different schedules of lessons can be arranged for homeschooled children in agreement with the teacher and the parents.

All classes are held at Victory School.  Lessons are held on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and 4.30pm to 5.30pm, depending on level.
